Cornwall Mineral Railway Letterpress Poster "TOLLS Authorised to be taken by the Acts of Parliament". Dated with the code indicating 1874, and measuring 18" x 12". Lists 3 separate sections, the first refers to the 1873 Act, the second the Newquay Railway and the East Wheal Rose Branch under Treffry's Estate Act 2857 and the third the Newquay & Cornwall Junction Railway Act 1864 and 1868. Absolutely original, although in a later frame bearing a 1968 date. A very rare and historic item indeed. |

Believed to have had only 4 totems on the station, this is easily the rarest of all Bristol area totems (although a Temple Meads totem, not the roundel, has yet to surface) Never at major auction before, it has deep colour and shine, a couple of chips not affecting the letters. |

McKenzie & Holland, Railway Signal Engineers, Worcester 19th century, solid copper Signal Lamp. A truly magnificent lamp of significant proportions measuring approximately 21" tall and almost 12" at its widest. The front, bullseye lens is a full 7" across. Large pie-crust top sits on the 3" chimney which itself sits on the lift-up top. Affixed to the slope of the top is the 2½" x 1½" oval makers plate. No interior but what a wonderful item to grace any collection, just picture this polished up and adorning the inglenook fireplace! |

Delivered new to the War Department in 1944 for use on the Western Front. Sold after the war to the NBC in 1947. Worked in Northumberland initially then moved to Cynheidre Colliery, Llanelli. From 1976 to 1980 it was kept at Pontarddulais as a source of spares. Loaned to the Gwili Railway Company from the National Coal Board and has now been bought. On arrival at Bronwydd parts from other locomotives were added and full restoration was completed in 1992. The plate is in absolutely ex loco condition. |

LMS Signal Boxboard LOWTON JCT. Ex LNWR location between Earlestown and Patricroft. The old Lowton station at the Bulls Head junction still remains intact and in useable condition. The Royal train, when it is in the area, uses the sidings here and is used sometimes as an overnight stopping place by the Royal train. There are actual stories of Prince Phillip visiting the Bulls Head with his bodyguards for a drink of the local brew. Lowton was originally named Preston Junction and the station itself closed in 1949. Thew Signalbox itself, typical LNWR built with a substantial brick lower portion raising the structure high into the air to give the signalman a clear view over the adjacent road bridge. |

GWR Long Case, weight driven Regulator Clock of quite magnificent proportions. Stands a full 57" high. Mahogany case with arched door which has cross banded mahogany inlay, the inside of which reveals the GWR ivorine plate numbered 1098. Also a small sticker which indicates Ex Goring. On the inside of the case back panel are numerous pencil dates, the earliest being June 1889. Dial repainted by British Railways with BR-W but quite clearly, GWR in ghost lettering can be seen. The regulator movement is of absolute top quality with 6 spoke wheel work and maintaining power. A unique, Great Western Railway Clock the likes of which have not been seen before. |

Born in Suffolk in May 1959, Steven Binks studied Graphic Design at Colchester Art School.
